As I announced last week, the Southborough Library is closed to the public until Thursday. They asked me to let readers know that staff are still available to help customers today through Wednesday. This is thanks to the “chat” function of the site
As they promoted in December 2020:
Now available on the Southborough Library website: LibraryH3lp Chat. This new instant messaging interface allows real-time communication with local librarians who are available to help you. If the staff cannot answer your question remotely, they will direct you to someone who can help you. We hope you take advantage of this fantastic new service and give it a try this week.

The service will connect you with real-time staff on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During these hours, the home page will feature a prompt offering “Chat with a Librarian”. The library promotes examples of uses, including:
Whether it’s a question about your library card, what to read next, or how to use our electronic resources and research databases, our staff will help you navigate it all. what the library has to offer!
Outside of chat hours, the prompt will instead encourage anyone with questions to contact the library. Links will direct users to staff email addresses, but will also encourage them to take advantage of the website’s searchable FAQs.
