Huma Abedin was once married to a promising politician — but she’s now hanging out with a more dashing guy who played one on TV.
Hillary Clinton’s former assistant was seen Thursday night at celebrity favorite hotspot Sona while enjoying a cozy dinner with Tony Goldwyn, who played fictional President Fitzgerald Grant III on the hit show “Scandal”.
The couple were seen seated side by side in a select banquette at the high-end Indian restaurant which is co-owned by Priyanka Chopra and frequented by the likes of Hillary and Bill Clinton, Governor Kathy HochulVanity Fair’s Radhika Jones, Mike Tyson and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner.
Spies said Abedin and Goldwyn were deep in conversation and stayed until the place closed. They then parted ways with Goldwyn walking out with some leftovers to take home.
But the political insider and longtime married TV star are apparently just close friends.
In 2017, they were even seen together at Disneyland with Abedin’s son. But a source told E! News at the time, “They are very close friends and worked closely together when Tony campaigned for Hillary…Tony is married and loves his wife, [Jane Musky].”
Goldwyn was obviously wearing her wedding ring to dinner. The representatives did not respond to us.
Before dinner, the couple also visited the famous Rare Book Room at Strand, we learned, where they celebrated the release of a new book by Filmmaker/writer sister of Goldwyn.
Also at the packed event for Liz Goldwyn’s third book, “Sex, health and conscience: how to recover your pleasure potential”, was Chloé Sévigny.
Liz, founder of sex educationspoke about the post with comedian Ramy Youssef – and a source described the conversation as “equal parts insightful and comedic…it ranged from topics such as their personal porn habits, the future of technology and how which they interact with sex in their own creative practices.”
The source added: “The mood was very upbeat. Everyone was extremely passionate about it. A lot of people had questions. Liz and Ramy had a very loose and funny exchange. They were teasing his brother Tony about that he was unaware of current slang. He had a good laugh about it. Huma bought the book… There were well over 100 people there.
Abedin, 46, first filed for divorce from disgraced Anthony Weiner in 2017, and he told the Post this year it’s “almost done”.
Goldwyn, 62, has been married to Musky since 1987.
Abedin was also previously linked to Bradley Cooper. Sona is also backed by Chopra’s longtime pal Maneesh Goyal and hospitality guru David Rabin.
