‘Long overdue’ WhatsApp update affects everyone in group chat

WhatsApp is set for an update that users consider “long overdue” and will affect anyone in a group chat.

The instant messaging platform is reportedly working on a feature that allows group admins to delete any message sent in chat.

Although the date of the update is unknown at this time, WhatsApp insiders have revealed on Twitter that the update will be available soon for Android and iOS users, Echo reports.

WhatsApp users can currently delete their own messages, but the new update would give admins the power to moderate group chat.

News of the update, already available on rival messaging app Telegram, was well received by WhatsApp users on Twitter.

Victor said, “Finally! This will improve the quality of WhatsApp groups a lot.”

Josh added, “Yoo!! This is long overdue.”
