Lorraine viewers are all puzzled by the same thing during John Barrowman’s chat

Viewers in Lorraine were taken aback by John Barrowman’s strange new accent.

The American actor appeared on ITV’s hit chat show alongside host Lorraine Kelly and apparently changed his accent from America to Scottish.

The 54-year-old is technically American of Scottish descent as he was born in Glasgow but moved to Illinois at the age of eight.

Barrowman told Lorraine: “This is how I talk to Scots at home. I have no control over my voice. I have no control over it. It’s like being bilingual.

The star has always spoken with an American accent and is not well known for her Scottish roots which made viewers quickly turn to social media to criticize the random change.

While @ hayleydavies121 asked, “Since when has John Barrowman had a Scottish accent. #lorraine.

And @ joyceJo49834475 added: “#lorraine John Barrowman’s Scottish accent isn’t wrong, he’s actually Scottish and has gone to live in America. He apologized for the mistakes of the past, it’s time to move on. I guess anyone who criticizes John has never made a mistake before.

The actor was fired from his duties as a judge on Dancing on Ice earlier this year following allegations of improper conduct on the set of BBC Doctor Who.

During his appearance on The Lorrain show, he then addressed the allegations that he was accused of flashing the cast of Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood.

However, he claimed that leaving the jury for Dancing on Ice had nothing to do with the allegations and that it was because he was instead to be a presenter on All Star Musicals.

Speaking to Lorraine, he said, “Dancing on Ice changes its judges all the time, and that had nothing to do with it (the claims) and ITV made that clear, which I’m grateful for.”
