Video resurfaces of ‘Stranger Things’ cast member shielding co-star from famous actor’s sexually explicit comments

A TikToker recently shared a 2017 video of the cast of “Stranger Things” at San Diego Comic-Con where moderator Patton Oswalt made a sexually explicit comment to one of the younger cast members.

The video shows actor Finn Wolfhard, 14 at the time, billed by Oswalt as “a born actor with the biggest porn name of all time”. The clip cuts to Wolfhard’s co-star Joe Keery telling him to “ignore it” and seemingly giving nods of support. Keery can then apparently be seen turning around and looking at Oswalt.

The Comic-Con clip was shared on June 5 by TikTok user “Albumly,” who appears to run a fan account for the “Stranger Things” series. “Maybe I have a bad sense of humor or something idk but that joke was very inappropriate,” the user wrote in the comments section.

Actor Caleb McLaughlin, who is also featured in ‘Stranger Things’, commented on the clip over the weekend, according to Insider. “Joe is truly mom bro,” he wrote, adding that Keery is “truly an inspiration,” the outlet reported.

Oswalt apologized for the remark, writing on Twitter in 2017 that he “thought I was funny but was actually a graceless asshole. I’ve since apologized and hopefully learned.

Actor David Harbour, who plays the character of Jim Hopper in the Netflix series, Told the Los Angeles Times podcast “The Envelope” at the end of May: “There are a lot of people who are going through, I guess, much worse things. But mentally and psychologically, I think it’s very difficult for the psyche to come to terms with with being hugely famous and being so adored at 11. I’m lucky because it didn’t happen to me until I was 40. The majority of the actors in “Stranger Things” were from middle and high school age when the series made them famous, Insider noted.
